Junior Geologist

Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Mineral Exploration Geologist with at least 5 years of field and technical experience to lead key aspects of our exploration projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in geological mapping, drill core logging, and GIS-based map creation, as well as excellent technical writing skills for preparing reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct detailed geological mapping in various terrains and environments.
Perform drill core logging, including lithology, structure, alteration, and mineralization interpretation.
Develop and maintain comprehensive GIS maps to support exploration activities.
Analyze and interpret geological data to guide exploration strategies.
Prepare high-quality technical reports and documentation for internal and regulatory purposes.
Supervise field programs and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geophysicists, engineers, and environmental scientists.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral exploration.
Proficiency in geological mapping, drill core logging, and data analysis.
Advanced knowledge of GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and other geological modeling tools.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Ability to work in remote field locations under varying conditions.
A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Field Assistant

Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Mineral Exploration Assistant to support our geological team in the field. This position involves working in remote areas, assisting with geological mapping, drill core logging activities, and field logistics. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in mineral exploration.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist geologists with field mapping programs, including sample collection and GPS navigation.
Hike across rugged terrain while carrying field gear and equipment.
Support geologists with drill core logging activities, including handling, measuring, photographing, and sampling core.
Record field observations and sample information with accuracy.
Ensure tools and supplies are organized and maintained in field and core logging sites.
Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols.

Requirements:

Physically fit and able to hike in mountainous or forested terrain for extended periods.
Dependable and able to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Valid driver’s license.
First Aid certification (or willingness to complete before fieldwork begins).
Willingness to work in remote camps, outdoors in all weather conditions, and fly in a helicopter.

Assets (Not Required but Preferred):

Previous experience in field work, geology, forestry, or environmental science.
Familiarity with geological tools, maps, GPS units, or GIS software.
Basic understanding of geology or core logging procedures.

Core Logging Assistant

Location: Cranbrook, British Columbia
Employment Type: Full-Time - Seasonal

Position Overview:
We are looking for a Core Logging Assistant to support our geological team during active exploration drilling programs. This is a hands-on role that involves working closely with drill core at a core facility. The ideal candidate is responsible, physically capable, and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

Take core orientation and recovery measurements
Photograph and organize drill core
Lift and transport core boxes
Drive to and from the core facility
Operate core sampling tools such as a portable XRF (with training)
Assist with core cutting and preparation for geochemical analysis
Enter and organize geological and sampling data accurately

Qualifications & Requirements:

Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Able to lift and carry heavy objects (up to ~50 lbs)
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
OFA Level 1 or equivalent first aid certification (or willing to obtain)
Comfortable using specialized tools and equipment (training provided)
Positive attitude and ability to follow instructions carefully
